Aceros Levinson Gains Greater Control and Efficiency Across Treasury with xfolio

How a 40-year-old specialty metals distributor streamlined payments, improved cash visibility and simplified treasury operations with a flexible, easy-to-use treasury management platform.

Aceros Levinson has built its reputation over more than four decades as a distributor of specialty steels, metals and engineering plastics. Today, the Mexico-based industrial company has more than 400 employees and its treasury team manages a complex range of financial processes.

As Aceros Levinson's treasury needs evolved, it wanted a solution that could provide greater visibility and control without adding unnecessary complexity. After evaluating several alternatives, the company selected xfolio as a result of its simplicity, flexibility and ability to adapt to its existing treasury processes.

The result is a more connected treasury operation, with automated payments, integrated bank accounts, better traceability and less manual follow-up.

The Challenge: Simplifying a complex treasury process

Aceros Levinson already had an existing TMS in place, but wanted a solution that was easier to configure and better suited to its specific requirements.

A key priority was streamlining payments. Transactions originating in its NetSuite ERP involved multiple manual activities and follow-up before completing the payment, and the treasury team also wanted better visibility into banking information and more timely access to bank statements.

The company also needed a technically advanced solution which was capable of going beyond traditional SWIFT-based bank connectivity by integrating directly with the banks' APIs with a variety of protocols.

To solve these challenges, Aceros Levinson needed treasury technology that could connect its existing systems, automate key processes and provide a clearer view of treasury information.

Why Aceros Levinson chose xfolio

Aceros Levinson considered several solutions, but xfolio stood out because it combined functionality with ease of use. It offered a solution that was simple to operate, flexible, and capable of adapting to Aceros Levinson's treasury processes. The company also chose xfolio as a result of its leadership in bank connectivity, offering a wider range of connectivity options and protocols compared to traditional players in the market.

The company particularly valued loan management functionality and customizable dashboards, which provide greater visibility and control over treasury information.

The relationship was strengthened by an existing connection with the xfolio team, and having already experienced the team's expertise and approach gave Aceros Levinson confidence in choosing xfolio as its treasury technology partner.

"xfolio stood out for its ease of use, flexibility, functionality, and ability to adapt to our treasury processes."

The Solution: Connecting ERP, banks and payments

xfolio has enabled Aceros Levinson to streamline its end-to-end payment process. Payments generated in NetSuite are integrated directly into xfolio, where they move through authorization and signing. Once executed, payment confirmation is received and fed into the ERP using API, and a notification is automatically sent to the supplier. This has eliminated manual and duplicated activities, reduced operational follow-up and improved payment traceability.

Aceros Levinson also integrated its bank accounts with xfolio and began receiving daily and intraday bank statement updates, providing more timely information for treasury management and greater visibility into banking activity.

A smooth implementation

Implementation began immediately after the contract was signed, with Aceros Levinson coordinating bank onboarding while xfolio's integration team managed the technical implementation.

All bank accounts were integrated within approximately two months, with daily/intraday bank statement updates in place. The subsequent NetSuite payment integration was completed within eight weeks – across all banks and payment types – including the authorization and signing workflow.

The project exceeded Aceros Levinson's expectations, supported by a structured implementation plan and close coordination between the company, its banks and xfolio.

The xfolio team's experience with bank integrations was particularly valuable, enabling it to accommodate the different requirements of Aceros Levinson's banking partners.

"The xfolio team's availability and accessibility have allowed us to quickly address any questions, concerns, or requirements that have arisen."

The Results: Technology that adapts to the business

For Aceros Levinson, the value of xfolio goes beyond automation. The company needed treasury technology that could adapt to the way it operates, including multiple host-to-host and API bank protocol across standard and proprietary formats.

xfolio's flexible configuration and customizable dashboards allow Aceros Levinson to tailor the platform to its requirements rather than work around a rigid system.

Combined with integrated workflows and hands-on implementation support, this gives the company a more connected and transparent treasury operation – providing sophisticated treasury capabilities without unnecessary complexity.
